Frequently Asked Questions

Why Join Soma Labs?

Most of us have grown up in bodies we were never quite taught to inhabit. We sit for long stretches of the day, move when we have to, and when we do move, it's often for reasons that have little to do with what the body actually wants (performance, appearance, output).

Even when we slow down, the busyness of the mind can make it difficult to feel what's happening beneath the surface. Sensation becomes background noise and the body often becomes something we carry around rather than something we live inside.

Soma Labs is a space to practice coming home to ourselves.

This is a home for the somatically curious, a community dedicated to returning to your body as a source of wisdom, sensation, and aliveness. At the centre of everything is “wiggling”: a self-directed somatic movement practice where there is no right way to move and no choreography to follow. Wiggling offers an invitation to move in non-habitual ways, track sensation, and let your body speak its own language.

People find their way here for all kinds of reasons. Some are tired of relating to their body from the outside in, they've explored many practices, and yet something still feels disconnected, like their body and their mind are two different beings sharing the same life. They're looking for a different entry point: starting from sensation, following what feels alive, and learning to trust what arises.

Others are simply ready for a guided container rather than another programme to complete. There's no curriculum to finish here, no performance to achieve. Sessions hold enough structure to feel safe and enough openness to explore. People describe leaving feeling more connected to themselves, clearer, more fluid, and more at ease in their own skin.

And then there are those who sense that movement can do more than they've been told. How we move shapes how we think, feel, and relate. Non-habitual movement has a way of catalysing change in unexpected places, opening up access to creativity, regulation, emotional processing, and a relationship with the body that's more like friendship than management.

Soma Labs is designed to become a home base. A consistent container to return to, week after week, year after year, where your practice deepens, and your inner landscape becomes increasingly familiar terrain. A place to find grounding when life feels scattered, to enrich your explorations when curiosity calls you, and to keep discovering new things about yourself and this magical body of yours. It turns out the body contains multitudes and we gather to learn its language.

What's underneath this space is a longing for community around somatic practice. Exploring your inner landscape can feel isolating when the people around you don't speak this language. Soma Labs brings together people who are curious about embodiment, where your weird shapes, your questions, and your “aha”s are welcomed and valued.

Soma Labs is not a fitness platform, a course, or a therapy group. It's a community of explorers learning to follow the thread of aliveness in their own bodies, together.

If you're somatically curious, even if you're not quite sure what that means yet, you're warmly welcome here. 🌱

What Does the Membership Include?

Your membership gives you access to:

  • Live playground sessions ~ Live sessions exploring body awareness, somatic movement, and the architecture of aliveness. Exclusive to the Soma Labs community.
  • Live wiggling sessions ~ Regular wiggling sessions to explore sensation, emotion, and thought, and moving in non-habitual ways. Available to the public.
  • Guided practices ~ An expanding library you can access in your own time. Includes body scans, passive relaxation practices, joint explorations, and visual anatomy.
  • Community space ~ A place to share what you're noticing, ask questions, and connect with others on a similar path.
  • Guest speakers & workshops ~ Conversations with practitioners and deeper dives into specific themes as the community grows.

The library expands based on what the community is curious about. Think of it as a space we're tending together; I'm planting seeds, but the ecosystem evolves based on what wants to grow.

How Long Does Membership Last?

Membership renews annually ($49/year), and you can cancel anytime.

I'd love for this to be a space you return to over time as an ongoing support for your practice.

Who's in the Membership?

Soma Labs attracts a wonderfully varied group of people. They arrive from different countries, different life chapters, and wildly different movement histories. Some are seasoned practitioners with years of yoga, somatic experiencing, breathwork, or other movement modalities behind them. Others come as curious beginners who know something is missing, even if they can't name it yet. Many carry a background in nervous system work and are ready to go deeper into the somatic dimension, not just to calm themselves down, but to find access to both settledness and aliveness.

What they share is a sense that the body has more to offer than they've yet discovered. Some are in the middle of a life transition, feeling a pull toward new ways of inhabiting themselves. Others are ready to move with more freedom, more play, and more trust in what their body already knows. And some arrive because they want to enjoy themselves more fully, and have a feeling that the body is a good place to start.

Members join from across North America, the UK, and beyond, ranging from complete beginners to longtime movement practitioners. What they have in common is a willingness to move in unfamiliar ways, to follow what's alive, and to be part of building something together. We're a small, warm, and budding community. And there's room for you here.

Are There Any Free Options?

Yes! A monthly wiggling session will be available for free. You can join the live calendar and drop in whenever you're called to move. It's a lovely way to get a feel for the practice and see if this kind of exploration resonates with you.

If you want to go deeper, Soma Labs offers deeper dive practices, connection with the community, and an evolving practice library.

Who's Behind Soma Labs?

Hi, I'm Ocean 👋

I'm a movement practitioner, facilitator, and writer exploring embodiment, somatics, and what it means to live in a body in this modern world.

I trained in the Non-Linear Movement Method with Michaela Boehm, and over time I've developed my own approach—which I call wiggling. I've spent years studying anatomy, nervous system regulation, and the intersection of movement and psychology. I'm currently training in Raynor massage and planning to study Psychology and Neuroscience of the Mind-Body Interface at King's College London.

I've also worked as Community Manager for Nervous System Mastery, supporting thousands of students in becoming more attuned to their internal landscapes. And I write about all of this on Substack: my ongoing attempt to make the invisible visible.

Soma Labs is where all these threads come together. It's the space I wish I'd had when I first started exploring what was possible through the body 🫀

How Can I Contact You?
